Whenever I have checked Chomsky's citations, I first
discovered that it was extraordinarily difficult to check
those citations. He makes words that sound like a citation,
but in fact the seeming citation is merely a heavily
obfuscated hint that leads to a trail of breadcrumbs in the
forest. And when, after a great deal of effort and labor,
one pursues this trail of breadcrumbs to the end, one finds
that the text at the end of this long and winding trail of
breadcrumbs has little resemblance to Chomsky's account of
it.
