A couple of weeks ago, police attacked people at a charity punk concert in Krakow. Footage filmed by Swiss journalists has been published in the main papers and shown on TV. It shows police firing rubber bullets into a relatively peaceful crowd, kicked and beating non-resisting people who were being dragged and arrested by cops, etc. etc. 44 people were arrested. 23 people are still in jail, including people who were beaten. This is no doubt to hide evidence of bruises, etc. 9 are being charged with felony assaults on police officers. (Throwing snowballs or other means of self-defense.) This is probably one of the biggest mass arrests and police brutality cases in Poland in a long time and we are asking people to help by writing about this and writing fax of protest.
