I know that. I meant in the context of having a phone line, which I
never had hooked up from 1996 to now.

What more can I say? I've had DirecTV since May 1996 and there has never
been the slightest issue of having a phone line hooked up. Like I said,
I never order PPV movies nor do I order any of the sports packages.
Everything else is unencumbered by the lack of a phone connection.
