First impressions on the Atlantic article of christopher Hitchens on martin
Amis's,Koba the dread.1917? Fergeddaboutit!
Hitchens wants to take us back now to 1905 when the motivating forces of
that uprising were the pristine Lenin and Trotsky, pure as the driven
snowballs.I though a priest was at the frontline for some reason.Anyways
according to Hitchens that although things may have gone wrong from 1920
and he mentions Kronstadt,he still manage's to miss Makhno and all the
other peasant uprisings,he still defends the system that as Bakunin
predicted would be the worst of all time.
As Hitchens joins the chickenhawks and rabid warmongers of the US lunar
right he carries with him like Horowitz, jamesd and others, the legacy of
trotskyist denial, wishful thinking and totalitarian worship.Authoritarians
of the left and right now slip easily in and out of each others dirty waters.
