Cyber stalking may soon become a crime under Victorian law.
The State Government has been seeking comment from the legal community on a
proposal to introduce an offence of online stalking.
The Law Institute has endorsed the proposal, believing it important for the
law to keep up with technological advancement.
Institute president David Faram said yesterday: "There has to be some law
in this state which says cyber stalking is an offence."
The institute endorses extra-territorial operation of cyber-stalking laws
to deal with cross-border offences.
