Court surprise for bigot

A TERRORIST group supporter who encourages Jews to kill Muslims was this
week confronted by about 20 of them as he entered court.
Michael O'Hara was clearly stunned as he walked into the County Court and
found a group of Year 10 students from a Werribee Islamic college already
there.
He walked to the front of the court, turned and looked at the students -
most clad in traditional Islamic burkas - and shook his head before taking
his seat.
What he didn't know was that it was coincidental that the school group
happened to be in the court assigned to hear O'Hara's sentencing plea on
Monday.
O'Hara was last week found guilty on 18 counts of making false documents
relating to his attempts to raise $5 million by selling two guns he claims
belonged to Adolf Hitler.
The Herald Sun last week revealed O'Hara had vowed to continue the work of
the assassinated leader of the Jewish extremist Kach group, which the US
has listed as a terrorist organisation. O'Hara also runs the Jewish Defence
League's Australian website, which encourages Jews to kill Muslims.
Psychiatrist Dr Lester Walton told the court on Monday that O'Hara was
suffering from a delusional disorder and was mentally ill.
He said O'Hara was obsessed with being a Nazi hunter. Prosecutor Peter
McDermott asked Dr Walton if O'Hara had ever discussed the Hitler guns with
him.
Dr Walton said O'Hara had said the guns were to help him flush out Nazi
sympathisers. O'Hara's former wife Louise, who was divorced from him in
July last year, said she believed the forged documents were props for a
movie O'Hara was making.
Mrs O'Hara said her ex-husband, who has claimed to be Hitler's illegitimate
son, knew "every single thing about Hitler". She said she had not read what
O'Hara had written about Muslims on his Jewish Defence League website.
"But our doctor is a Muslim. We are not against Muslims. Michael is not
against Muslims," Mrs O'Hara said.
O'Hara's JDL Australia website attempts to incite Jews to violence and
warns that JDL members are armed and ready to fight "our Muslim Arab
adversaries". Richard Backwell, for O'Hara, said O'Hara did not accept Dr
Walton's diagnosis that he was mentally ill.
He said O'Hara continued to maintain the two pistols he obtained did belong
to Hitler and one of them was used by Hitler to kill himself in 1945.
County Court Judge Michael Kelly said it appeared O'Hara got his kicks out
of making up grandiose stories about himself and others.
Judge Kelly is expected to sentence O'Hara today.
