FBI Manufactures Terrorist Crisis to Justify INS Detentions
Commentary by Chuck0
If you spent any time this evening watching cable news channels, you couldn't escape the prominent photos of five Middle Eastern men who the FBI alleges entered the Unites States last week. After many such fake FBI alerts in 2002, the purpose of this new FBI hysteria about non-white guys entering the United States is quite obvious to any skeptic of the American Empire. The FBI is manufacturing an alert to justify last week's illegal and brutal INS round-ups of Middle Eastern men in California. The U.S. government discovered that they could get away with what amounts to rounding up non-white people on American soil and subjecting them to what are essentially concentration camps.
If one is to believe the talking heads on cable news channels such as CNN and Fox News, these five men entered the United States last week. The FBI has released their pictures and names, but curiously can't tell anybody where they are from. This caused the TV anchors and experts to spend lots of time speculating on which country the names of these men may have come from. At one point, some off camera expert was talking about how one guy's first name sounded Pakistiani and his middle name sounded Iraqi. The blonde white woman who was acnhoring Fox News' broadcast proceeded to ask leading questions that were designed to inflate the hysteria about these mysterious men from the Middle East.
It's pretty clear from watching the TV news and reading news reports that this isn't just another effort to keep hysteria going about the "Al Queda threat." This is clearly a propaganda effort by the U.S. government to lay the groundwork to normalize mass detentions of people of Middle Eastern descent. This is a prelude to more concentration camps and deportations.
Those of us who live in the United States have an obligation to resist these terrorist actions by the American Empire with any means necessary. Solidarity rallies are important, but the U.S. government will proceed unless it is met with massive civil disobedience, direct action, and sabotage of their plans.
The U.S. regime says that their so-called "War on Terrorism" may go on for decades. We've seen how casually that the Bush regime will detain people illegally for over a year. This isn't just something you read about in history books or watch on the History Channel. This is happening now and it is affecting your neighbors. We have to take action now against the American Empire before it is too late!
