Hit the wall
Software firewalls can be a cheap way to secure a handful of computers, but
it can become more efficient to hand over your security to a dedicated
piece of hardware. D-Link's DFL-500 is a hardware network security device
that sits between your modem and Internet gateway to provide firewall and
anti-virus protection to a local area network. The firewall uses NAT
translations to hide internal IP addresses, Stateful Packet Inspection to
prevent Denial of Service attacks and an Intrusion Detection System with
logging, reporting and e-mail alerts. For those needing secure remote
access, the DFL-500 supports Virtual Private Network server functions
including IPSec, ESP security in tunnel mode, LAN-to-LAN and mobile remote
access. It also scans e-mails, Web content and downloads for viruses and
provides key word and URL Web content filtering. It is a plug-and-play
device easily configured via a browser.
D-Link's DFL-500 retails for $1333. For details call 1800 177 100 or visit
