The size of anti-war demonstrations around Australia reflected the feelings of most Australians, a leading pollster said today.
While Prime Minister John Howard suspected most Australian were yet to make up their minds about war on Iraq, Newspoll found most Australians had been opposed for the past six months, Newspoll managing director Sol Lebovic told ABC radio.
"These kind of numbers (at demonstrations) aren't that surprising given the polling we've been doing, where we've found the majority of Australians are against involvement in war against Iraq without UN backing," Mr Lebovic said.
