Federal Court Upholds Calif. Gun Show Ban By Associated Press
SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal appeals court panel Tuesday upheld a local California ordinance banning gun bazaars on public fairgrounds, a decision expected to lead to similar bans statewide. In dismissing a challenge to the Alameda County ordinance, the three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that gun enthusiasts did not have a constitutional right to possess weapons for sale on public property. The decision follows a state Supreme Court ruling in April that allowed cities and counties to prohibit gun shows on their property. Los Angeles, Alameda and other California counties banned gun bazaars on public fairgrounds amid concerns such shows promote violence. <snip> http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/wire/sns-ap-brf-gun-shows-banned0219 feb18,1,4417468.story?coll=sns%2Dap%2Dnationworld%2Dheadlines
