Post "was the greatest job I ever had." He tells Dick Kreck: "Even as
part-timers we got (union) scale. Friends were making $2.35 at Arby's, I
was making eight bucks. The whole business has changed. As a result of
starting at 17, I feel I'm the youngest person who saw hot type, who made
rubber-cement glue balls." In D.C., he says, "We've got copy aides who are,
like, Georgetown graduates. They're so smart and so educated. They'd like
to have fun but it's not permitted. We don't have fun at The Washington Post."
