Bruce Anderson, editor of the Anderson Valley Advertiser
in Boonville, Calif., "is a throwback to the days when the
cantankerous independent newspaper editor was a fixture in rural
America," says Rone Tempest. Anderson calls right-wing
ranchers the "rural fascist league," says yuppies are
"cheese and white wine sip liberals," and dismisses young rap
fans as "morons playing moron music." The controversial
editor's latest campaign: Defending a convicted child molester.
