filing spat

The Boston Globe's David Filipov has been expelled from
Baghdad after breaking Iraqi restrictions on when journalists may file
stories electronically. He was ordered to leave the country Thursday
after filing a story using a satellite phone in his hotel room. Joe
Strupp reports Iraqi regulations for journalists allow them to send
stories through satellite phones only from within the hotel's press
center, and during certain hours. Globe Foreign Editor James Smith
says: "David was doing his job, trying to tell what was happening in
Baghdad."
