A libertarian prat and CATO parrot. He retails rubbish from discredited racist scum like Tim May and refuses to retract lies in his archives.(at least one I know about.)
Ah well cheats never prosper. His CATO funeral plan will probably bury him at Arlington.

Cato is famous for the dishonesty, not to say nuttiness, of its analyses. In 1996, egged on by a handful of Arkansans with inherited money, Cato reported that Arkansas was a high-tax state, higher even than states with superior social services - California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York. State tax officials quickly used real numbers from the Census Bureau to show that Arkansas is in fact a low-tax state, as reasonable people knew all along. The Arkansas property tax Cato wants to abolish is the lowest in the nation, and gives meager support to one of the poorest educational systems.
In its way, Cato is as fantastic as Free Republic, the Clinton-hating creepies Huckabee partied with at Bush's inauguration. Cato is better-funded, though, as you'd expect from a group that furnishes propaganda for Big Oil, Big Tobacco, Big Drugs and Big Media, among others. Major contributors to Cato include Chevron, Exxon, Philip Morris, R. J. Reynolds, Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Federal Express, American Express, GTE, Microsoft, Citicorp, Salomon Brothers - the beat goes on.
That Cato is treated with undeserved respect by journalists, that its sources of funding are rarely mentioned, is partly because Cato's board of directors includes the unsavory Rupert Murdoch and other media moguls.
