Statement of Impeachment
WE IMPEACH THE U.S. EMBASSY FOR REJECTING OUR WRITTEN STATEMENTS OF ANTI-WAR, AND JAPANESE GOVERNMENT AND TOKYO METROPOLITAN POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR UNLAWFULLY ARRESTING OUR COMRADES TO ADVOCATE THE WAR BY THE UNITED STATES.

On March 20, 2003, United States launched attacks on Iraq.

Before the attack started, each of us has raised loud voices against war for the United States to demand not to start the war. At 8:00 pm on the very day the war broke out, each of us brought one's own written statement of his/her view to U.S. Embassy. We wanted to meet and demand to stop the war to the ambassador.

However, when we got to the Embassy, we were so surprised. In a few hundred meters in front of the Embassy, Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arranged a massive amount of police officers and special kind of police cars which laid in the way and blocked people. We asked the reason to police officers why they blocked the street, but we got no reply. When we started going forward, police officers started being abusive to us, and locked our arms in a full nelson or pushed shield onto us without explanation. Moreover four of us were took away, confined in a special police car, and taken into custody.

Although we have asked to the police their release and where they are, we have gotten no reply yet.

We would like to ask you all. Doesn't a person who is against the war be allowed to express the statement of his/her own view? Can a person who is against war be taken away without a single question asked? While Japanese government has talked about *anti-terrorist warfare,* isn't it a terrorism that police officers took citizens away unilaterally?

We do not allow this nefarious warfare and collaboration on it.

We would like to ask many people to express solidarity with us. We demand the release of our four comrades and the truth of this outrage.
