Tuesday evening I was part of a small group (about 25) of like minded Canadians who were peacefully protesting across the street from the American Consulate on University Avenue. This protest included a small candle light vigil, a few signs and some soft singing and praying. At around 7:30 pm a uniformed RCMP officer approached our group to demand that we tell her what "group" we were affiliated with. She then produced a notebook ready to take notes about our group affiliation. I was quite surprised and a little bit concerned. We refused because none of us belonged to any "group". When did the RCMP start monitoring peace activists? I find this behaviour on the part of the RCMP to be somewhat alarming. If they are monitoring a group of peaceful activists, who aren't causing any civil disobedience, one wonders what actions they are taking behind the scenes against those they feel are "radicals"?

I was out walking one night when asked for my name and address by some avuncular P.I.G.S,they said,"Oh we don't care it's just for our Sergeant and he doesn't know you from a bar of soap."
I replied that I unless I was under arrest I wasn't going to tell them a thing and there sgt probably wanted to turn me INTO a bar of soap. That shut them up.
