A CALL FOR ASSISTANCE.
This mail might come to you as a shock since we have not met. I am mr CYRIL KONNEH the
younger brother of DAMATE KONNEH the chairman of Liberians united for reconciliation
and democracy(LURD) the main rebel opposition that has fought the government of
president CHARLES TAYLOR for four years.
Though I do not know to what extent you are familiar with events and disturbances
in Liberia,but it has consistent features in the news media world wide.My country is
one of the three mano river union (M.R.U)comprising GUINEA,IVORY COAST,and LIBERIA my
home land a country with a vast wealth of high grade diamonds.
I was in Europe for the acquisition of new arms to strengthen our armory that was
running out of effective arms when I heard the news of a cease fire brokered by ecowas
and the united states.I quickly called my brother who confirmed the cease fire between
the government and the rebel movement(LURD) who immediately ordered the cancellation
and a freeze on all forms of arms acquisitions.
With this development it became obvious that the new interim government might try
to confiscate or freeze our accounts or even dig in to our secret diamond
stockpile.This has led to my fleeing to the Netherlands where I have currently sought
a political asylum.We are now faced with the problem of what to do with the seven
million eight hundred thousand united states dollars($7,800,000)currently transferred
into a security and finance firm based here in the netherlands.Our current status as
refugee barred us from engaging in any form of financial transactions hence the
urgent need to seek outside assistance with strict confidentiality.
My brother has advised that we look for a genuine responsible investor that could
help us secure this fund into a safe and secret account outside African
continent,deposit it into a foreign account to be provided by him and subsequently
invest it in his country.We also have a high grade diamonds deposited in a secret
location,but that would be discussed as the partnership progressed along.
What we would like you to do for us is to come to the Netherlands and open a non
resident account where this fund is to be transferred and subsequently invest it in
your country.We have also set aside 5% of the total sum for any expenses that might be
incurred in course of this transaction.We also would like you to decide if you would
like to have a certain percentage of the fund for providing an account for the
transfer,in that wise we would be willing to offer you 25% of the total sum.The
remaining 70% meant for us will be invested by you in your country.You also have the
option of going into partnership with us.
