Hello,

While I was going through the sources in CVS at the moment I saw that imapd.conf gained the "guid_mode" option, and lost the "sync_machineid" option. The provide_uuid paramater in cyrus.conf has been removed too.

If people are going to upgrade from a configuration that uses sync_machineid= X and provide_uuid=1, and don't configure guid_mode = sha, what will happen?

(Not that I'm going to do that) Could some documentation be missing?

I saw some code being removed from master.c about uuid's.

It al leads me to think that if you don't configure guid_mode to sha and assume the uuid way of working will not stop, you may be wrong.

Am I right or wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Rudy
