I guess it's outlined in the Contribute code docs [1], maybe not that explicitly, but.. TL;DR: communicate here, send patches to small fixes here, larger contributions go to GitHub (with issue describing the problem first, then a mail here with the link to the PR). What I do believe (and what I have commented in the other mail) is that it would be beneficial to keep the dev docs updated and with enough detail, i.e. summarizing all the conversations here and on GitHub. Also, replying in a reasonable time to all the PRs would encourage more contributions I believe. Aaand.. seizing the opportunity and as 3.2 got its own branch, any chance to close issues/1765 (remove SNMP) [2] by merging pull/2100 [3]? This would open the road to work on chroot & other security improvements. And it would be nice to finally decide/proceed on issues/1731 [4], what Дилян has mentioned (PCRE).
