Marcin, some time ago I've implented a Cython-based wrapper to ANN. Only kSearch is available, just because I stopped there writing code. Are you interested in give it a try? I can send you a tarball if you wish. I'm really curious about a performance comparison between your All-Cython implementations of a kdtree, and the C++ one of ANN ;-).
