I realize now that the recent discussion shouldn't be a discussion of syntax as such, but rather the overall strategy for numerics in Cython.
I think I finally know how to present the issue that I've been circling around during the spring reasonably clearly -- however I don't want to start either a) a thread where I have a longwinded start which nobody (understandably) bother to pick up, leaving us in the current state of indecision, or b) one of those 200-post threads spanning three weeks (which is too long and a lot of effort, summed up). Can we try an IRC session? Do people have time? (Anybody who's interested, but at lest Robert and Kurt)?
