Czernowitzers... It has become a bit quiet in our Czernowitz-L Discussion Group lately. This is not least due to the fact that the Corona pandemic has restricted travel to and from Czernowitz. Nevertheless, significant things are happening behind the scenes, which I will report on in the near future. The tireless efforts of some of our members have resulted in the current identification of potential financial resources to support the commemoration of the
HOLOCAUST IN NORTHERN BUKOVINA AND TRANSNISTRIA. I myself have seen a number of monuments, commemorative plaques, etc. in Czernowitz, Mohyliv-Podilsky, Bershad, and elsewhere, but we all know that there are places in the region that were the scenes of terrible crimes, but where there is nothing at all to commemorate them. PLEASE SUGGEST SUITABLE LOCATIONS, EVENTS, NAMES FOR SUCH COMMEMORATIVE MONUMENTS! Let's use this unique opportunity to keep the memory of our ancestors as a reminder for future generations.
