Czernowitzers...

On behalf of Anna Lena Lang, a historian from Munich, I would like to address
her following request to all of you. Let's try to engage our collective memory
and contribute to results for Anna Lena.

Dear Czernowitz discussion group,
I am an art historian and work at the Central Institute for Art History in
Munich. In the course of our project on the Julius Böhler art dealership, I
became aware of the Bauml family, who were art dealers in Paris and Geneva.
Henri Bauml, the founder, was born in Czernowitz and died in 1928. His wife
Sabine, née Beck and also from Czernowitz, as well as his son Marcel (*1903,
Paris) died in 1944 in the concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau (or on the way
there). Sabine's sisters, Pauline and Hedwige, survived the war and both died
near Paris in 1964.
Most of the family information I got from Charles Rosner's publication
Emancipation. Etes-vous (aussi) de Czernowitz?.

I would like to know more about the Bauml and Beck family and their art and
antique shops in Paris and Geneva. This information will also be published. I
have already started working on a blog post for the website of the Central
Institute for Art History and I am planning to write a post for the RAMA
database on the French art market during the occupation as well:
https://agorha.inha.fr/recherche.
Unfortunately, Guy Rosner could not tell me anything about the family, nor did
he know of any documents. That's why I wanted to ask you all for your support:
Does anyone have any information on the Bauml / Beck family, or on the H. Bauml
art dealership in Paris or Genva? If not, does anyone know whom I can contact
with this request? Photos of the family members are included in Rosner's
publication - does anyone know where I can get the original photos (or better
quality images)?
I look forward to hearing from you - every little hint can be very helpful!
Greetings from Munich
Anna Lena Lang

Thank you all in advance and have a great weekend!
