Dear Frederick

My grandmother was born in Kolomyya in 1908 and my grandfather was born in
Wiznitz (Vyznitsia) in 1911. Both towns were Austro-Hungarian territory -
Kolomyya was in the Polish province and Wiznitz was in Bukovina. (Both ar
epart of Ukraine today.)

They left their home towns to go to Germany in 192/30 where they met and
got married

We have certified copies of their birth certificates from 1935 when they
returned to Poland and Romania (respectively) to get their documents before
getting married.

Do you think that being born in the AH Empire would qualify for Austrian
citizenship? There seems to be real confusion about this

Many thanks

Alan
