Hello again to all,
I'm working on a blog post about survivors working at the diamond factories
in Netanya in the mid 1940s.

My father, Carl Schmatnik arrived in Mandatory Palestine January 11 1945,
aged 21
In his bid for Palestinian citizenship orders 1925-42, Certificate of
Naturalization. in "Particulars Relating to Applicant" his trade was listed
as a diamond worker. A letter vouching for his candidacy was sent by
Carumis Zvi, the secretary at the Hayahalom Diamond Factory Ltd on
Nathanya, certifying that "Mr. Karl Shmatnik is personally known to us from
the 8th April 1945. Since the 8/4/45 til the 21/3/47 he has been employed
as a diamond polisher in Hayahelem Ltc and has not left Palestine during
the above mentioned period.

I have only a few facts about my father's time there and would like to
learn more about how survivors came to work at these jobs.

**** Advice on where to research personal stories of newly arrived
survivors who worked in the diamond industry? ****

Here's the source material I'm reading now:

Thanks!
