| This is fantastic news! Congratulations, and I can’t wait to get my copy.
Kind regards,
Shula Marketing & Communications 778-998-1940 https://www.linkedIn.com/in/ssklinger/ Dear friends,
I'm excited to share the news that my graphic novel memoir REPLAY: Memoir of an Uprooted Family is now available in English. It will arrive in U.S. bookstores Tuesday, March 19.
Replay tells the story of three generations of the Mechner family, including my grandfather Dr. Adolph Mechner (1897-1988), who was born in Czernowitz and was a doctor in Vienna until the family fled Europe in 1938. Part of the book depicts his youth in Bukovina and as a soldier in World War I. Replay also tells the story of my four decades in the game industry, from making games on a 1978 Apple II to the modern console and film versions of Prince of Persia. It was first published in France, where it was awarded the 2023 "Chateau de Cheverny" history graphic novel prize last year.
Information about Replay can be found on my website. The graphic novel is available from Amazon and from other international sellers. It goes without saying that I would be delighted and grateful for members of this list to share this news, along with any Replay links or images, so that more people who may be interested can learn about the book. Replay is about the creative life, about parent-child connections and the 20th century’s upheavals, and all the ways the past is present. I deeply enjoyed the three years I spent writing and drawing its 320 pages, including the research process in which this community was extremely helpful. I hope you'll enjoy and find it meaningful — and perhaps, that Replay will speak to you personally and resonate with your own life and memories.
