Please discard it and enjoy reading this corrected message below. Thanks, Baruch The Aron Kodesh (Ark) from Siret Synagogue arrived at Yad Vashem It is with great pleasure to inform you that the Aron Kodesh from the Synagogue in Siret (More than 6 meters high) has finally arrived at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. Aron Hakodesh disappeared in 2016 from the Siret Synagogue, FCER's property. On February 11, 2019 Mr. Yochanan Ron-Singer and Mr. Christian Herrmann saw on Jewish Heritage Europe about the mysterious disappearance of the Aron Kodesh from the Siret Synagogue and its not less mysterious reappearance in an Israeli auction house. See the earliest relevant link is at <https://jewish-heritage-europe.eu/2019/02/11/romania-ark-of-historic-synago gue-dismantled/> https://jewish-heritage-europe.eu/2019/02/11/romania-ark-of-historic-synagog ue-dismantled/ The information is also in Mr. Edgar Hauster’s Ehpes Blog http://ehpes.com/blog1/?p=10687 . Mr. Hauster is also the one who informed me about this. Yochanan Ron-Singer's (whose activities in this challenging project were the most important ones) urgent and essential intervention, in coordination with Dr. Aurel Vainer Z”L on behalf of The Federation of Jewish Communities of Romania and Yad Vashem, with whom an agreement was signed to donate the Aron Kodesh and present it in Yad Vashem – activities which were supposed to be simple and straight forward, ended up taking more than 5 years!! These activities involved complaints to Israel Police (Twice), appeals to court (Twice), handling this sacred project during the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Iron swords war and other unexpected obstacles and exercises that the holder tried in order to delay and prevent the return of the Ark. Finally, on 15.5.2024 Yad Vashem experts came to the storage room where the Ark was, dismantled it and took it to Yad Vashem. Although the Ark is not yet installed in Yad Vashem it’s time for thanks: 1. The former resp. present FCER presidents Dr. Aurel Vainer Z”L and Mr. Silviu Vexler and the FCER staff for their numerous legal and other actions in Romania, encouraging the team in Israel and donating the Ark to Yad Vashem. 2. Mr. Yochanan Ron-Singer, with assistance from Mr. Daniel Katz and Mr. Baruch Eylon from Israel, for managing this project beginning to successful end. Special thanks to Yochanan who led the project along the whole process. 3. Yad Vashem former chairman Mr. Avner Shalev and current chairman Mr. Dani Dayan and their staff for agreeing to transport, restore and present to the public the Ark in Yad Vashem. 4. Adv. Elazar Tenenboim for all legal activities PRO BONO (for many years!). 5. Mr. Christian Herrmann and Mr. Edgar Hauster from Germany for also bringing to our attention the disappearance of the Ark from the Siret Synagogue. 6. Adv. Adriana Zegrea from Radautz/Bukovina for all legal activities in Romania (for many years!). 7. Romania’s Ambassador in Israel Dr. Radu Ioanid for support at Yad Vashem and encouragement of the Israeli team. Thank you all and looking forward to see the Aron Kodesh installed in Yad Vashem and available to all to enjoy this more than 200 years old piece of art and holiness. Baruch from Israel, Eretz Hakodesh ארץ הקודש
