I agree.

It seems I failed to make my point: of course I do separate my e-mail. 
I'm subscribed to -user, -devel, -project, -www, and a few other lists. 
Anything else would be insane!

However, the downside is that threads cross-posted across several of 
these lists are annoying to follow. Would be nice if the mail reader 
could mark messages read across folders.
