This one is supposed to have been told by Todor Zhivkov, a Bulgarian dictator and first secretary of the Party, known, amongst other things, for collecting political jokes and telling them at various inappropriate times. ------------ "George H. W. Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, and François Mitterrand are having an important meeting on board of a large liner ship in the middle of the ocean. All of a sudden, the ship starts to sink. For whom will the people cry most, comrades?" (Silence, nobody dares to respond. Zhivkov continues after a while.) "The people will cry the most about me, of course! Because I wasn't onboard the ship!"
