Hi Bob,
what I did in this case was get the inverse properties ahead by reading the
ontology, and generate a mapping file as a template.
Of course this doesn't address the optimizations you are talking about but
it saves time when you otherwise will have to know the ontology frmo start
to end, or continuously look at it to know which is the inverse of a
property.
At the end of the page [1] there are 2 links for downloading an .sh file and
a .java one.
