You bring up a question - does MSSQL.PY and FreeTDS work with MSDE/Express?  
I'd say the answer is yes.  In the FreeTDS conf there is an entry for 
'127.0.0.1' (localhost) but doesn't the new express require some settings.  I 
heard (haven't used it yet) that Express's default was to prevent TCP/IP 
access and used a different port???  Anybody know?
