        GPL gives you lots of freedom to use copyrighted material that you  
normally wouldn't have. Its main requirement, though, is that  
anything you create that benefits from those freedoms must be  
released with licensing that is not any more restrictive than the  
GPL. Ergo, if I use GPL-licensed software to create my proprietary  
app, I have to make the source for the entire app available, and  
grant my users the same rights that the GPL grants.
