Still, I think we *should* scour our code and replace with the
current syntax. Grep makes it easy enough to do, and anyone looking
at our code will see the "preferred" way of doing it.
We should, however, keep the old syntax around for any apps written
that use it. These could be simple objects that take the old calls
and pass them through to the new calls.
