Years ago I was concerned about that very issue when I first started
creating the cdxml format, and considered adding a type clarifier of
some sort (e.g.: Value="i1" vs. Value="u1"). It turned out that it
never seemed to be necessary, so I never followed up on it. But it
would be pretty simple to implement by modifying dicttoxml.
