Because it might imply that you can instantiate it directly, and Bad
Things can happen when you do that. You can safely create a dColumn
instance, configure it, and then add it to a grid, but the tree works
differently internally. The class was not exposed for a long time, and
it wasn't until I had to add support for them in the Class Designer
that I realized I could not subclass it to add the Class Designer-
specific behaviors that were needed.
