Ok, I've not caught up on the rest of the dabo-dev and dabo-users messages on this. The API doc for DataStructure says "returns a tuple of ..." but doesn't state that DataStructure *must* be a tuple? Is there a good reason to enforce it to be a tuple instead of a list? If not, I think we should keep allowing it to be a list.
