With all the changes that are currently occurring with the python interface (I believe the maintainer passed) to Firebird is that still true? It was my understanding that several major changes were in the works and the interface was going to use something like the ODBC rules combined with the DBAPI2.0. If they are following ODBC then there could be the concept of a server side cursor (its in the spec). But if you say no then - OK.
