This fixes the setFocus() problem noticed in the fieldValidation demo on
Mac.

I couldn't find a fieldValidation demo anywhere, and I knew that a lot has
changed in
both wx and in dabo over this 5-1/2 year span, so I figured that if a problem
pops up
we'll find a different way to resolve it.
