Correct. It may actually turn out that Tk and Qt support will be
completely unnecessary, although keeping it as a design goal keeps
Dabo's layers properly separated.
The problem with
Portland that I see is that it only applies to linux and X windows. I
think it would be best to wait and see if is established as a standard
GUI kit like GTK. The last problem I see is that it doesn't have
Python bindings, which is a major hinderance.
Correct on both counts. If Portland succeeds, then there would probably
be a wxPortland wrapper instead of a wxGtk wrapper, which would have an
effect on Dabo but nothing we or our users interact with directly.
