Well, right now I'm in an overview of Python Eggs. Before that Guido gave an overview of what's coming and disappearing in Python 3.0, and how to start writing forward-compatible code. SQLAlchemy definitely looks like an excellent choice for db abstraction layer (we could do away with dbFirebird, dbMySQL, etc. and just delegate to SQLAlchemy). Not sure yet if we'd do away with dDataSet; I don't think that would be necesary. Note: this isn't anything I'm going to work on any time soon. Probably a Dabo-2.0 change. This morning's keynote by Adele Goldberg provided a nice contrast to yesterday's keynote by the key developer of OLPC (One Laptop Per Child). OLPC is definitely a shining example of the type of organization I'd love to work for. Other than that, I've gotten some good idea on testing and documentation, including how to build an implement buildbots to continuously run unittests on various platforms/setups and provide instant feedback on what is failing. Dinner so far has been to sushi and ethiopian cuisine, with 10 or so very interesting, smart, engaging people from all over the world. PyCon just keeps getting better and better! -- pkm ~ http://paulmcnett.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/dabo-users
