        My reading is that if you pay the money, you are not limited to only  
linking to the API; IOW, you can directly link to the C code. But IANAL.

        We do not distribute any of the database adapter modules except in  
the Runtime Engine, and licensing issues may result in them being  
removed from there, effectively killing that effort.

        You should then get written confirmation from the author of psycopg2  
that you can then show to your lawyers.

        Sure, but right now the only work that has been done for PostgreSQL  
support has been using psycopg2. If you or anyone else wishes to  
contribute support for another approach, it would be welcome.
