Before you do anything, open the .cdxml file (and the associated -
code.py file, assuming you're keeping them separate) in a text editor
to make sure that they are intact. Sometimes if you open a .cdxml
from a different directory, it gets confused and can't find the -
code.py file. Other than that, I don't know why this might happen.

Glad you have some backups! If this ever happens again, please take
a minute to write down exactly what steps you took so that I can try
to figure out what's going on.
