These menu display issues were fixed in more recent versions. You can
also click on an empty slot to select it, and then choose the sizer/
control to insert from the menu.

That was also fixed recently. Did you get Dabo from subversion, or
from the download page?
BTW, we're working hard to get the finishing touches on 0.9, which
will allow me to resume regular Web Update releases.
