Yes, it would. I already changed my dbFirebird.py to use that. And if it
works in fact with FB 2.0, then so much the better. But in the official
Dabo code it would have to be surrounded with tests, so dbFirebird.py
doesn't crash with older kinterbasdb versions, wouldn't it?

Or did you mean the default in kinterbasdb? There was a discussion of
this on the kinterbasdb list, I think. Of course I'd like that - but
then I can always please myself as far as updating to new versions of
anything and everything is concerned. Not very typical.
