Dear Dabo-users:
What I want to do a add a series of How To - Using the Class Designer
to the Dabo Wiki to help new developers to Dabo and Python. I am by no
means and expert to both Dabo or Python so I will need all your help on
proofing by email before I add the documentation to the Dabo Wiki. If
you find any grammar error or confusion in the Emails on How To - Using
the Class Designer, I would be very glad for your help. I am working on
a large project and I will divide my time between both projects.
My objective is to keep every thing as simple as I can and not going
into details about the Class Designer. For Python I also don't want to
go into an details but new designers to Dabo and Pyhton on where they
can find material in books or on the Internet. If I get into to much
detail then please help me out.
What I though I start out with is how to create a simple Hello World
that will print the person's name Hello World Bob! by calling the
daba.ui.inf() modal message box. What I will cover will be:
1 * HowTo- Class Designer: Creating your first project
2 * HowTo- Class Designer: Add and Modify the menu bar
3 * HowTo- Class Designer: Create a Module for your menu def in ui
4 HowTo- Class Designer: Add new features to the Status Bar
5 HowTo- Class Designer: Add a simple Toobar
6 HoeTo- Class Designer: ....... So On
I am going to start with 1 -3 and when I finish learning 4 - 5 I will
add them to the Dabo Wiki.
For number I HowTo- Class Designer: Creating your first project it
would be nice if I can tell the new Dabo Developer that in the Class
Designer the first step is to select in you form design the menu File ->
Create Project. It would be nice to have "Create Project" would allow
the designer to name their project and then Dabo CD would create all the
sub directories like biz, db, ui and so on within the current directory.
If that can't be done then I can tell them they will need to do type in
the terminal:

The other way by adding a menu item "Create Project" would make it more
easier to explain.
