I've posted this to the wxPython list to see if it is a bug in
wxPython or something else. In the meantime, I've reworked some of the
methods that deal with position and spanning to handle spacers better.
The sample cdxml file now runs fine on XP.
Please try the latest commit and let me know how it works for you.
