Actually, I agree with you that in this case using a dForm instance directly 
was 
perfectly appropriate.

But I also agree with what Ed was intending to do: make sure a new Dabo user 
doesn't 
end up hitting a brick wall because he assumed that working with base instances 
was 
the only way to do it!
