I'll try to do some testing tonight or tomorrow but when you add a new record, you should see blank values in the edit screen (or, if you have biz.DefaultValues set, those values). One of the following is happening: 1) the new record isn't actually getting added 2) the new record isn't getting selected 3) the controls on the edit page aren't updating to show the blank values.
