        I'm not sure exactly, but we have seen issues with Python 2.7 on 
Windows. Unfortunately, neither Paul nor I are regular Windows users, so it's 
tough to diagnose the issue.

        Are you running from a Windows terminal (i.e., cmd.exe)? If not, run 
cmd.exe, and cd to the ide directory. Run the Class Designer from there, and 
then when it crashes, see if there is any output in the terminal that might 
give a clue as to what caused the problem. You can paste the output in an 
email, or on dabo.codepad.org.
