I believe we could write a plugin that people could download. However, py2exe
is
Windows-only and development hasn't been keeping up. At this point I think we
should
put our money on cxFreeze or PyInstaller. The former fully supports Mac, Win,
and Lin
and Anthony Tuiniga is very responsive with questions and changes.

I've spent way too much of my own time trying to get a reliable, efficient
deployment
for my application on the three platforms and my current cobbled-together
solution
uses py2app on Mac, PyInstaller on Windows, and cxFreeze on Linux. I'm fairly
certain
-but haven't tried- that the current trunk version of cxFreeze would work on
all
three with almost no platform-specific code.

The endeavor to provide a cxFreeze plugin would be worth it, if I could just
find the
time...

I really like the approach of PyInstaller (totally separate from
distutils/setuptools), so if they get good Mac support soon I could change my
stance
and recommend it instead.
